Error with the website, you need to optimize

Post by thomasmuller »

Hi
I'm a new member but I face the problem when I access the site
"This page isn't working
www.prepar3d.com is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500 "
I always see this message on the screen, I have to refresh F5 many times to get through
I think you need to optimize and fix this error

Works fine here, but you are right, it takes way to long to load this webpage, way to long, fix this or change server / host, a quicker host, will be better for everyone in here.

And now the whole website is really sluggish and take about 30+ secs to load fully, what the heck is going on here?

YOU really need to optimize the server, or find another quick host, this is way to slow.

It seems to ahve slowed down in the last few weeks. I wonder if that's because traffic might be increasing which might be a good sign.

5 days later, this site is still very very very slow, and takes ages to load. Admin, WHY is that so? FIX IT

Takes ages to load, so why is this the ONLY stie that have this problem, well, this sites host / server needs a quick tuneup, and optimizing,
then we'll see.

The problem may actually not be with the server prepar3d.com at all.

I just did this command, from an administrative command prompt:

tracert prepar3d.com

This showed that from my computer here to the server the connection passes through 21 "hops" or nodes, if you will. Such a node is in effect another server.

At each and every one of these, shorter or longer delays will be incurred. And in these days, where cyberwarfare and cyber attacks is an everyday problem, these delays will tend to become longer, either because of an attack or because of the countermeasures taken to fight such attacks.

So any complaints need to be directed ALSO to the companies managing the nodes on the way to the server.

And I am quite certain that everyone involved along the route are doing what they can with what they have (which is also called a budget).

It might be helpful to know where there is a problem geographically. I can only add that I am in the northwest US and it generally loads within a few seconds.

I am in the northernmost part of Germany. I could suspect (from his name) that Geir is in Norway.

Also, I am in a city. It may be slower if you are in a rural area.

I am having no trouble with website…traveling now in France, but home is in Illinois...no problems either location, though every once in a while access does seem less than instantaneous…

MY location has nothing to do with this very sloooooow site at all. My connection is 500 / 500 fiber, the best you can get, so again, this site needs seriously an upgrade, trust me it does. My closest city is only 8 km away, and the population in my town is well over 20k, so again, my location has nothing to do with this darn sloooooooow site at all.

Yeah, lucky you, aint ya, well, see my answer further up, so location has nothing to do with this site being sloooooooow at all. See my connection speed, well over your connection dude, so guess again, this site needs a upgrade to its server, trust me it does. I got report from other users as well telling this site is very sloooooooow.

Geir, allow me a quote: "My connection is 500 / 500 fiber".

That is the local connection from your computer to your Internet provider's server. Beyond that, the routing (and speed) between the Internet nodes may change from one moment to the next, so the connection speed may vary from one moment to the next. Traffic at the various nodes along the route may also affect the actual connection speed you get to any given server.

Recently I was trying to load the P3D web site while I had P3D6, Volanta and Active Sky running in the background. On that occasion I took 10 or 20 seconds to load. Otherwise it loads in a few seconds. My internet connection speed is about 300 mbs
